Village Finder FAQ

Common village questions.

How does the village finder work?

Enter your seed and edition, and the tool calculates every village location from the world-generation algorithm — no exploring needed.

Do villages generate in every biome?

No — villages only generate in Plains, Desert, Savanna, Taiga and Snowy Plains (plus Meadow on Java). Other biomes never have villages.

The marker shows empty ground — where’s the village?

The marker shows the village centre, but houses can spread 50+ blocks in every direction. If you only see one house, walk around — the rest is nearby.

Why doesn’t my village have a blacksmith?

Not every village has a blacksmith — it’s random per village. Blacksmiths have a stone slab roof and a lava pool out front; keep searching other villages.

How far apart are villages?

Villages are spaced out by the world generator — expect several hundred to a few thousand blocks between them. The finder lists the closest first.
