What Is a Minecraft Seed Map?

A Minecraft seed map shows you the world a seed will create before you start playing in it. Type any Java Edition seed into the viewer above and it draws the complete biome map for that world, with villages, strongholds, slime chunks and dozens of other structures marked at their exact coordinates.

Everything is calculated in your browser from the seed itself, using the same world generation rules as the game. There is nothing to install and no file to download. Use it to plan a survival base, check what spawns near your starting point, or hunt for a rare biome before you commit to a world.

How to Use the Seed Map Viewer

  1. Enter a seed. Type a number or a word into the seed box, or press the dice button for a random seed.
  2. Pick a version and dimension. Choose Java 1.18, 1.19, 1.20 or 1.21, and switch between the Overworld, the Nether and the End.
  3. Press Load Map. The biome map renders around the world spawn point.
  4. Toggle the layers. Use the chips above the map to show or hide structures, slime chunks and the spawn point.
  5. Click anything on the map. Clicking a marker or a spot on the map shows its name and exact X and Z coordinates, ready to use in game.
  6. Move around. Drag to pan, scroll to zoom, or type coordinates into the jump box to fly straight to a location.

What Can You Find on the Map?

The viewer maps every biome in the game plus the spawn point and slime chunks, and it marks 21 types of structures across the three dimensions:

Looking for what is underground instead? Our dedicated tools go deeper: find every ore vein with the Ore Finder, pinpoint diamonds with the Diamond Finder, or locate your nearest stronghold with the Stronghold Finder. There is also a Village Finder, a Slime Chunk Finder and a Nether Portal Calculator for linking portals at the perfect 8:1 ratio.

Supported Versions and Dimensions

This seed map viewer supports Java Edition 1.18, 1.19, 1.20 and 1.21 in all three dimensions. World generation changed a lot in 1.18, so the same seed can look very different between versions β€” always check the version you actually play on. Because the viewer follows Java generation, Bedrock players can use it for biomes in most cases, but structure positions may differ on Bedrock.

Minecraft Seed Map FAQs

Is this Minecraft seed map free to use?

Yes. The viewer is completely free, needs no signup and runs entirely in your browser.

Does the seed map work for Bedrock Edition?

The viewer uses Java Edition world generation for versions 1.18 to 1.21. Biome layouts are the same as Bedrock in most cases, but exact structure positions can differ on Bedrock.

How accurate are the structure coordinates?

Positions are calculated from the seed with the same generation rules the game uses, so a marker shows where the structure will generate. Click any marker to see its exact X and Z coordinates.

Can I find diamonds with this map?

This map shows surface biomes and structures. For underground ores, use the Diamond Finder or the Ore Finder, which pinpoint veins for the same seed.

Do I need to install anything?

No. The whole viewer runs in the browser β€” just enter a seed and press Load Map.
