Try the Interactive Map

Load a saved world or enter a new seed below — the map plots every diamond vein within a 256-block radius.

How It Works

The finder plots every vein within a 256-block radius, showing exact X/Y/Z, cluster size and distance. Copy the coordinates for /tp if cheats are enabled. Each diamond ore block drops 1 diamond plus 3–7 XP.

Best Y-Level for Diamonds

Y-59 is the peak on both editions; 1.18 spread diamonds wider than pre-1.18 (which peaked at Y12); the practical strip-mining level is Y-58; deepslate diamond needs an iron pickaxe or better.

Mining Strategy

  1. Set up your base at the target Y.
  2. Branch every 3 blocks.
  3. Place a torch every 12–14 blocks.
  4. Carry a water bucket.
  5. Best pickaxe setup: Fortune III + Unbreaking III + Mending + Efficiency V.

Java vs Bedrock

The same Y rules apply with different placement noise; make sure you pick the correct edition.

Team tracking: mark diamonds as mined; Team members can mark them too; everything shows up in the shared activity log.

Diamond Finder FAQ

Y-59 is the peak on both Java and Bedrock — diamonds spawn from Y16 down to -64. For practical strip-mining, dig at Y-58, which also covers redstone.

Veins are predicted from your seed for the edition and version you select. Choose the correct edition (Java, Java Large Biomes or Bedrock) and version, and the predicted-locations note applies.

Yes. The same Y rules apply on Bedrock, though ore placement noise differs slightly between editions — make sure you pick the correct edition.

No. Deepslate diamond ore needs an iron pickaxe or better — a diamond pickaxe is not required.

The predicted-locations note applies: veins can differ if chunks were generated on another version or with custom settings. Copy the coordinates and use /tp if cheats are enabled to check.

Load a saved world or enter your seed, then mark diamonds as mined as you collect them. Team members can mark them too, and everything shows up in the shared activity log.
